Jean Wilke’s 2-day Forge Knive Making Course

In this Jean Wilke-led course you will forge a
“Harry Wolhuter lion killer” replica knife from 5160 carbon steel and attach a handle to it.
Ending with a well-made, working knife that will last a life-time.

This course is designed for all knife enthusiasts who wants to learn more about knife-making.
Including someone that wants to give the first steps into knife-making as a new hobby or career.

The course has 4 goals:

- Be safe
- Have fun
- Learn a lot about knife-making

- Leave with a great forged knife

Jean Wilke’s 2-day Sheath Making Course

In this Jean Wilke-led course you will learn to make various types of leather sheaths. Ending in 2 ½ sheaths for your own knife/s.

The purpose of a SHEATH is firstly to protect you from the knife! And secondly to use as a comfortable way to carry certain knives.

This course is designed for all knife enthusiasts or makers that feels his/her sheaths are sub-standard compared to the knives and wants to get the two on par. No prior skills are required.

The course has 5 goals:

- Be safe
- Have fun
- Learn a lot about sheath-making

- Leave with 2 ½ great sheaths

- Hate sheath-making a little less

Kobus Wilke Custom Whips

Kobus Wilke, Jean’s brother, is making the
most awesome custom whips. Working
mostly in paracord he makes a range of small to medium sized whips. These includes, snake whips, bull whips and stock whips. His favourite is however the hybrid whips.
These can best be described as a snake whip, attached to a handle.
They are extremely easy to crack, yet are
accurate and FUN!!!
Since Kobus is still at school, his whips are a
scarcity. Contact us to order one.

Unique hot-forged items

From time-to-time we create and offer unique hot-forged items to our clients.
These include pendants from small pieces of
Damascus steel, “Braai” tools for use in a
traditional South African “Braai” called a
barbeque in some parts of the world.

Marguerite Wilke Childrens Books

Marguerite Wilke, Jean’s mother and an accomplished foundation phase teacher, has
embarked on a new venture as a children's book author.

While initially predominantly
creating stories in Afrikaans, she recently published her first English children's book, "Finkle Firefly’s Big Mistake" available on Kindle Amazon. Her unique stories teach important life lessons in a delightful manner, capturing the young child’s imagination and leaving them eager for more.
